Author Biography David Feist is an elementary school teacher originally from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. As a lad Feist explored in the outdoors fishing, hiking, camping, gardening, and playing baseball in his spare time. At an early age Feist enjoyed writing poetry and short stories for school assignments. Feist studied elementary education at East Stroudsburg University in the Pocono Mountains, graduating in 1989. In his time as a teacher he has taught every grade from Kindergarten through 12th, with many years spent teaching third grade. Feist has released 81 books in many genres, but is currently concentrating on children's literature projects in Pine County, Minnesota. Feist says that good writing involves research. "Anyone can write a tale from their thoughts," he indicates, "but to back up one's stories with a great many historical truths takes a fair amount of time, and some connecting of the dots, but it is actually quite enjoyable," he reflects. "And it makes for good, good reading when young people can learn a lot from their fiction choices."
