VTG 60s Empoli - Murano MCM Handblown Glass Aventurine Amber Ribbed Vase Pair. You are looking at a pair (2) Mid century modern Empoli region Murano inspired Amber ribbed aventurine vases. I could not find the maker in any of the period catalogues I went through of these two forms. You are looking at a pair (2) Mid century modern Empoli region Murano inspired Amber ribbed aventurine vases. I could not find the maker in any of the period catalogues I went through of these two forms. While looking I read that in the late sixties the glassblowers in the Empoli region had been influenced by the masters from Murano and were making heavier more substantial pieces to export which I believe these are most likely from. They are quite large and heavy beautiful pieces of art glass. They are not signed with the more squat form of the pair having a generic made in Italy label of the period on the base. Because of the weight of this vase the pontil mark is to the side above the base. The other has been smoothed over on the taller vase. As far as condition these are in Very good Condition for their age. On the shorter of the two there is a small chip of the inner rim at the opening. The pair are a bit dirty on the interior and could use a cleaning. See all photos for details. These will be shipped with extreme care to prevent any damage during shipping.
