What a great find! The top part (brooch ) is reverse carved glass with images of clasped hands, an urn of flowers and other floral details. The word "friendship" is spelled out on a ribbon above the clasped hands. The details are white on a black background. The rectangle is just over an inch high and 1.25” wide. Please note that the cameo style black background shows a white spot in some photos. I'm not sure what the white was but it wiped off. Please see close up. The center part of the piece is similar to chain mesh, but constructed with rolo links. The fob is gold over brass. It has a molded glass cameo on the face and a glass window on the back that displays light brown hair on what looks like deep purple or royal blue velvet ribbon. The brooch and mesh part of this piece test as 9k Gold. The fob is gold gilt. I think the clasp was replaced at some point in time. The original tube hinge remains, but the clasp suggests a later date (not modern). The replacement was done professionally. There are no unsightly solder marks seen. The entire piece measures just under 4 inches. A very unique and interesting estate piece. Please see pictures as part of full description and measurements.
