It is a large brooch measures approximately 2 1/4 long. It is in good antique condition with minor wear. The bronze had an antique/aged patina. It could be polished if desired. It closes with a C clasp. It appears to have originally made as a belt and later converted into a brooch. Multi-enamel floral belts were made for the royal family and wealthy Japanese nobles in silver and bronze and later individual panels were divided repurposed into brooches and other jewelry. It is an old conversion. The enamel work is well done. It has a few dark lines (hairline cracks) in the enamel work that make it look like stained glass, which is typical in Antique Japanese enamel on brass pieces. Bronze has an antique patina.
