Description

WE HAVE OVER 30+ CAMEO'S BEING LISTED FROM A LONG TIME COLLECTION, SO DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT OUR OTHER CAMEOS This is a gorgeous antique Brooch / Pin that also has a loop to use as a Pendant on a Necklace. It is Victorian age, c.1900. This cameo is well carved with extra details, fine hair and facial lines, neckline of the dress and the leaves in the hair. In the traditional style of a Bacchus or Dionysus, but this cameo has an extra high relief , this is a thick piece carved to really jump out at you- possibly museum quality in my opinion. This cameo is made from carved pink and white color shell, that looks like Angel Skin color to me (the last picture above shows the way light shines through the pink background.. This is marked "10K" on the clasp, it is all solid 10 kt gold. However there is also a makers hallmark of O.E.H. on the setting as well- I have not been able to figure this out- it seems to be a very rare hallmark. But I did find one mention online of a Swedish jewelry maker using O.E.H. at one time around 1913 by the name of " Haeggman, O. E.", in Sweden I can see that this was very finely made by not only the extraordinarily high relief carved like a bacchus, but also by the craftsmanship of the setting. The setting is a lovely well put together filigree style setting, however the little hinged pendant loop was very well done and the pin clasp is an odd style I have never seen before where you place the pin inside the closure and push the lever on the side to hold the pin in place... Very interesting and high quality piece of art here. Measurements: 1-1/8" long by 7/8" wide (total dimensions). Condition: This is in good condition for its age, the clasp/pendant loop will work and it is ready to wear. *No Returns/Refunds Policy*...Please Note that we do not accept returns or refunds.
