Description

This outstanding mourning brooch is gold over sterling silver. The frame is stacked style with absolutely gorgeous amazing detail. There is also blue enamel that is accentuated by a brilliant shiny gold outline. The inside of the frame features white / blonde hair under original glass in a unique arrangement and tied with a bit of string. The background is dark blue. The glass is in very nice condition with no evident wear or scratches. So tasteful and elegant! This is a larger piece than many at 1.75" x 1.5." There is an inscription on the backside that reads, "My Mother M H Leach." The catch is C style with a tube hinge. The pin fits tightly in the C, but I was able to open it with a little effort. This is one of the prettiest and well preserved mourning brooches that I have encountered. Jaw dropping in fact! Please see all photos. A must have for your mourning collection!
