Description
This dainty brooch is a good example of what common women wore in the late Victorian period. It has a lovely design with a naturalistic shape, suggesting leaves or insect wings attached to the circular center. On the back side it is silver and is stamped 830s followed by two letters (maybe HF?) that I cannot make out, and am not sure what they mean. Help me out if you can! The pin and catch are pretty typical of jewelry made before the catches had little latches. Yhis pieces in great condition and would be a great addition to anyone's collection of antique jewelry. 😉
This delicate Victorian brooch is a charming piece of history! The rose gold plating and intricate naturalistic design—resembling leaves or wings—give it a timeless elegance. The 830s silver stamp hints at its authenticity, though the mystery initials add intrigue. The pin and catch are classic pre-latch style, still sturdy after all these years. Perfect condition and full of character—ideal for collectors or anyone who loves vintage jewelry with a story. A beautiful addition to any jewelry box!
