Description
This large, stunning brooch has a heavyweight hammered brass body with a pinched/ruffled border. It has a chased inner border in a delicate plume design surrounding a large, bezel-set topaz stone. The stone is opened-backed. The outdoor pics (on jacket) are most accurate for color; pic 4 is lighter because the light is shining through the back. This is a hefty piece, appropriate to wear on a coat. The brooch measures 1 3/4" wide x 2" long. Condition is excellent overall, but you can see how there is moderate wear to the stone, with some large abraded spots and a couple of small flea bites. Due to the construction of the piece, I don't think you can replace the stone. It's still absolutely wearable and the stone is quite lovely despite the wear. The body of the brooch is in excellent condition and the C-clasp hardware functions just fine.
