Vintage Anchor Hocking Princess Candy Dish Lidded Green Depression Uranium Glass. In gently used condition. There is a small chip on the rim of the lid and some scuffing around edge of footed base. Please see pictures for details. The Anchor Hocking Princess lidded candy dish is made of green uranium depression glass produced in the 1930s that glows under a black-light. Manufacturer: Originally Hocking Glass Company, which later became Anchor Hocking. Production Era: These dishes were manufactured during the Great Depression, specifically from c. 1931-1935. Material: The green coloration comes from the use of uranium dioxide in the glass mixture, which causes the glass to fluoresce a bright neon green under a UV or black light. This is a key identifier of authentic pieces. Design: The dish features the distinctive "Princess" pattern, an Art Nouveau style with a footed base, a round bowl, and a matching lid with a pointed finial. The 8-inch covered compote is a particularly hard-to-find shape.
Even cuter than the photograph. It's standing right next to me on the desk as I type this. I thought I'd have to lean it against something, but this beauty stands up on its own. I really needed something to make me laugh, and this plush cat accomplished that. I'm so happy I ordered this.
Great seller!!! I absolutely LOVE my adorable Powerpuff Girls that are even nicer than described! They fit into my collection perfectly! Thanks for packaging them so well and shipping them fast! I'll definitely be back! :)
