Beautiful late 70’s CV high efficiency design 15” 2 way loudspeakers. Beautifully restored, cabinets repaired, reinforced, sealed and sanded to bare wood. Printed and coated with dense rubberized speaker paint, very durable and resonance absorbing. The color is very dark brown espresso. The main woofers have been professionally reconed and refoamed. Original tweeters and crossovers, high frequency pots are clean and static free. Custom built grills are 3/8” mdf reinforced with 3/16” plywood backing for added strength. Sonically invisible burlap pattern grille material . Steel pins into rubber receivers hold the grills securely in place and custom made magnetic HED insignia replicas to finish. These speakers have less than 2 hours on them since recone/refoam, although that work was done a few years ago. I purchased them from the original owner who had that work done but never re assembled them. Box contains all the original cotton batting. These speakers are classic Vega sound, they hit hard, I imagine they will really open up once they are broke in. I’m listing them for local pickup but am willing to pack and ship if so desired. Their huge, it’s not gonna be cheap to do correctly, will include extra pins and receivers and an extra HED badge. The badges are magnetic , easily removed or re positioned. There’s not a lot of info available for recent sales but the ones I could find were in this ballpark, but not as nice. Feel free to ask for a shipping quote or any other questions. The woofers are stamped w152 on the magnets. These are the same woofers used in the legendary Cerwin Vega D-9 speakers. Appx dimension is 18” x 18”x 30”. The weigh about 75 lbs ea.
