Vintage Hand Carved Old World Italian Accordion Player Wood Figure, Folk Art. It is unmarked but each piece was catalogued where it originated from. It is approx. 3 ¾” tall. DETAILS · This is a charming and unique vintage hand-crafted piece of European Folk Art made sometime between the 1930’s and 1950’s. · These types of Old-World sculptures were carved by life-long trained craftsmen and then hand-painted & stained with great detail – in deep earthy colors. These intriguing figurines were masterfully created by local artists in small villages throughout Europe. This trade follows a tradition of refined workmanship passed down through families for centuries. The figure’s rustic influence adds to its charm. · This small piece was made in Italy and depicts a poor Italian man playing the Accordion; he wears a hat with a tattered brim. It was purchased from a collection at an Estate Sale that was accumulated during travels between 1932 through 1955. It is unmarked but each piece was catalogued where it originated from. · It is in very good vintage condition – I found no notable flaws.
