This item is a vintage starfish figurine, acquired in the early 2000's. Specifically, it is a Millefiori-style, glass starfish in clear and red, with multicolor flowers. "Millefiori" translates from Italian to "thousand flowers", and refers to the Murrina technique of slicing canes of glass to expose transverse patterns. In Millefiori, the slices of layered glass exposes a flowerlike design.
