When purchasing an untested or barely tested machine, these are the kinds of issues you can expect to discover. Both sides of the machine work as expected, though do be aware that the buttons on deck B are stiffer and require more pressure to push in compared to the buttons on deck A. This deck is basic but still a decent performer. It records well on TDK tapes, including with Dolby B. Recordings made on Maxell or other tape brands may be overly bright or dull - this isn't an issue with the machine, but rather a normal limitation of decks without external bias control. Cosmetic condition is good for the age of the device. Scratches, marks, and other blemishes are present on the unit. Please check pictures for an assessment of the cosmetic condition.
