Vintage Saltwater Fishing Photo - Stu Apte #5 Mahi. Frank also authored a number of books on fishing and hunting. This is a vintage photograph of famed saltwater fly fisherman, Stu Apte, with a nice Mahi caught on a fly rod. In photo you can see the Salwater Fly Rodders of America (SWFROA) on his bag. It is stamped "Photo by Bernice Apte" on the back and it appears to be taken in South America. This is an original black and white photo, that measures 8" x 10", and is in excellent condition. The photo is much better in quality than the image shown because I scanned it at a low resolution (150 dpi) and the watermark seen on it, will not be on the photo when mailed. This photograph, along with others I have listed, came from the estate of Frank Woolner (1916-1994), the longtime editor of the Salt Water Sportsman magazine. Many of these photos were used in the Salt Water Sportsman and in some of the books that Frank authored. Frank was an original member of the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association and the Worcester Striper Club. Frank also authored a number of books on fishing and hunting. The photos acquired include saltwater, both surf and boat, freshwater fishing, fly fishing, hunting and even some photos of the Woolner Brothers Outdoor TV Show.
