Description
Vintage WW2 British RAF Irvin Flying Jacket 2 Panel With Wiring 1940-41 42" Chest (unusual to see larger sizes so obviously not a fighter pilot!) A lovely, original example in very good condition for age. Size Chest 42+ inches (107cm) (assume 42 for comfortable fit) Length of back from base of collar to hem 24 inches (62cm) Sleeve length from armpit to cuff 24 inches (62cm) 1940-41 2 panel version with rarer electric cables (The 2 arm plugs are ok but the bakelite on the body ones have crumbled). Original DOT zips all round and running freely. Leather is supple. A few old patches and a tear to lining. No label. Collar elastic intact with D rings. Belt reasonably supple. It came from the same source as several other items I am selling and I suspect all are linked to the same pilot so probably trained with 6 BTFS in US (closed early 1944), flew Dakotas with 575 Squadron (D day & Arnhem) and promoted to Master Aircrew post war (so NCO aircrew and then warrant officer late 1940s -early 50s) which would cover the Berlin Airlift period. Please see pictures for condition I am always happy to combine shipping Please feel free to message me with any questions
