Please Note: This is the actual piece photographed for the book we wrote: Slag & Marble Glass, The Prominent Years, 1959-1985 (N. Taves & D. Jennings) on page 94. Westmoreland Glass made this Red Slag or Marble Cat Covered Dish - mold number CT-2 . This piece was made in 1982 and was a non-catalog item. These were sold in the gift shop. The base measures about 5.5" across and both the top and bottom are marked with the factory WG logo. This can be identified as original Westmoreland because it has the WG mark - all slag colors sold later by Rosso (who purchased this mould) and made by Mosser, will have the circle mark. No damage found. Note: You are buying one cat covered dish. The first photo shows the piece under standard LED lighting and the small insert photo shows the same piece under a black light. Black Lights: See photos for black light setup that was used (we use a 395-400nm light). Depending on your type of black light, distance from the light, etc., your color may differ (such as how much purple or red you see under your black light). Some areas of the black light photo may be a reflection from the lights and are not "glow." 5 Star seller!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wow! This is probably thee most impressive packaging job I’ve ever seen. Both pieces wrapped separately in bubble wrap, then placed in separate boxes, then a layer of bubble wrap abound those boxes, inside of another box! IMPRESSIVE! Needless to say, my glass item arrived in pristine condition! Exactly as described/shown but even more beautiful in person. This piece is stunning! Very happy to add this to my collection and to add this seller to my list of favorites.❤️
Can’t say enough good things about this seller! Items were exactly as described and even more stunning in person. Items shipped very quickly after purchase was made. While this dog is really “Aruba” slag and not “Fantasia,” the misnomer is easily forgiven. It’s an outstanding piece of Aruba slag, with tons of “iron,” and the blue glass glows brilliantly under 365 nm UV light. Better than shown in the pictures! He was packed extremely well for protection in shipping, and arrived without a scratch. Shipping was FAST and at a very reasonable cost. Uber friendly seller, great communication. Price was good; I wouldn’t hesitate to shop here again!
