Vtg Hermes Ladies Red Reversible Wool Cashmere Open Stroller Coat sz M/L/40 Belts not included in sale. This is an amazing vintage Retro Era ladies Hermes reversible stroller coat from Paris. It is a ribbed wool in a deep scarlet red on one side with the opposing side being a vibrant trendy cherry red! This garment is extremely well made with large patch pockets on the cherry red side. The reverse of this coat is a lovely deep scarlet red with slits for you to be able to reach inside the pockets. The fabric has weight to it, and being a cashmere blend is very soft and pliable. The scarlet side is ribbed with the cherry red side being a smooth surface. The Raglan style sleeves are long here and I believe intended to be cuffed with a piped underarm gusset for freedom of movement. You can fold over the lapel on either side showing the reverse color, or have it lay flat for a more cosmopolitan look. I love the versatility of this coat! You can wear it open or with a belt as shown for an entirely different look. The coat fits loosely like a vintage Stroller coat from the 1940's. It has a very Art Deco style and appeal. The condition here is good. There are moth bites present however, most of which have been repaired as shown in the 3rd to last pic. so as to be barely visible. The measurements would indicate this jacket would accommodate a larger size nicely although a European size 40 translates to a US Med to Lrg.
