Based on the "Sovereign Stone" role-playing game Well of Darkness Second in line for succession to the throne, Prince Dagnarus will have his crown... and his queen -- though his heart's prize is a married elfin beauty. Let his hated half-brother Prince Helmos and the Dominion Lords dare to oppose him. For Dagnarus's most loyal servant has ventured into the terrible darkness, where lies the most potent talisman in the realm. And once it is in the dark prince's hand, no power will deter his Destiny. 2000 Guardians of the Lost When Sir Gustav recovers a portion of the long-lost Sovereign Stone, he hopes that its reunion with its companion stones will bring humans, elves, dwarves, and orken together to battle the forces of the Void. A group of unlikely individuals, including a young barbarian and his traveling companion, one of the diminutive race of pecwae, undertakes the quest to bring the magical treasure to its rightful place as vicious monsters pursue them across the landscape. In this sequel to Well of Darkness, best-selling fantasy authors Weis and Hickman again demonstrate their uncanny ability to create meticulously detailed imaginary worlds peopled with complex and vital characters. 2001 Journey Into the Void The conclusion of the Sovereign Stone trilogy is its strongest volume. Dagnarus of the Void is confident that, with his Void power and the loyal Vrykyl, he can reign over New Vinnengael and the world thereafter. But he betrays a key ally, the warlike taan, and in the meantime the four Dominion Lords gather, each bearing his or her piece of the Sovereign Stone. Shadamehr for the humans, the Captain of Captains for the seafaring orcs, Wolfram the Unhorsed for the dwarves, and Damra for the elves converge on Old Vinnengael to confront Dagnarus amid its ruins. Concurrently, the stubborn old sorcerer Rigiswald guards the lords' backs, in company with Raven, the Trevinici warrior adopted into the ranks of the taan, whom he is slowly turning into allies of the lords and into a relatively civilized bunch. The many characters and settings slow the pacing as they enhance the world Weis and Hickman have built, but loyal readers may consider this the best of the duo's high fantasies to date. 2003 S&H Charge includes careful packaging & Delivery Confirmation.
