We are offering this great WWII British RAF Type P8 plane's compass that was used on the Spitfire, Hurricane, Bristol Beaufighter and the Mosquito airplanes. It is in very good original condition and accurately shows directions The interior fluid is missing and there are three tiny set screws missing (not altering function of visual appeal), I believe the grey painted housing is brass and that all the other parts are non-ferrous. The compass has an overall diameter of 5 1/2" and a height of 3". I believe it was made c. 1940. It has the serial number 118294. The Air Ministry brass plaque is present and it gives the reference number as 6A/0.726. Stock Number SA2D-421
