In the latter half of the Meiji era, he worked on flower and bird prints that could be mistaken for Japanese paintings from the publisher, Daikokuya, and became very popular overseas. From the Taisho era to the Showa era, the issue was changed to "Shomura" and "Toyomura", and "modern" flower and bird prints incorporating gorgeous colors and enterprising woodblock prints were released one after another and attracted attention. Died in 1945 (Showa 20) at the age of 68. Because he was very popular overseas since he was alive, there weren't many works left in Japan, and he was literally an "unknown painter". The shipping was exceptionally fast from Japan, to the eastern US; and, the packaging was secure. Given that the book is not available in my home country, this transaction was a good value.
