The guitar has a medium scale (628.6mm), a 41.5mm nut width, 22 stainless steel jumbo frets, and a 12" radius, with a deep joint set neck construction. The body is finished in a glossy Rusty Brass Charcoal color with gold binding, while the neck back has a satin dark natural finish for improved playability. The chambered design of the body is based on Yamaha's "Acoustic Design" sound analysis process, providing scientifically-calculated resonance. The acoustic volume is impressively loud, showcasing Yamaha's technical craftsmanship. Additional features include a luxurious Yamaha emblem on the headstock, binding around the neck and body top edges, and a racing stripe down the center of the body. The overall body shape is well-balanced yet gives a sleek, tight appearance. The pickups, which form the core of the sound, feature Yamaha's original VH5 humbuckers with Alnico V magnets on both the front and rear. These pickups offer a sharp, punchy sound with excellent clarity, providing a rich attack and a responsive tone. Despite the simple controls, the guitar offers a variety of sound options. The 5-way pickup selector allows for not only classic humbucker tones but also single-coil-like sounds, such as the half-tone tones found in typical 3-single-coil guitars, all with little to no noticeable volume differences. A major highlight is the Yamaha original Focus Switch feature, accessible via the push/pull potentiometer on the master tone knob. This passive control adds a sound characteristic akin to increasing the number of coil windings, giving a "push" or boosted feel to the tone. This is especially effective in rhythm play for sharp, cutting tones and provides an excellent response during lead play without thinning out the sound. The guitar is well-suited for a wide range of genres, ensuring a strong stage presence. As an exclusive feature for the Professional model, it also benefits from I.R.A. (Initial Response Adjustment) treatment. This treatment addresses the common issue where new guitars don't resonate fully right out of the box. Through Yamaha’s unique technology, this process enhances the guitar’s resonance from the moment it’s shipped, ensuring this model exhibits a rich, well-developed tonal character from the start. This particular unit, like others, showcases an impressive resonance from the solid wood materials. As for the condition, this guitar has been meticulously kept by its first owner as part of a collection, maintaining an almost mint condition. Upon close inspection, there are very slight signs of wear such as minimal tarnishing of some parts and faint surface scratches visible at certain angles, but there are no noticeable damages at all. The frets are over 95% intact. The neck is in excellent condition, with ample movement remaining in the truss rod. All accessories, including the certificate of authenticity and tags from the original purchase, are included (see images). Additionally, the guitar comes with its original hard case.
