It is long enough to fully thread into your crank and push the crankshaft pulley into position with effortless installation. This is a must have for engine swaps or upgrading the balancer. Fitment: 1. Fit for GM 1997-Up: Camaro,Corvette,Trans Am,GTO,G8,LS Truck 2. Fit for all GM based LS engines: LS1 LS2 LS3 LS4 LSX LSA LS6 LQ4 LQ9 Engines,or LS powered hot rod. 3. Not fit LT1 5.7L engines (1992-1997) How to use: Simply thread the tool into the crankshaft until it seats,then tighten the nut down until the pulley is seated. Using the original bolt to press the harmonic balancer back on is a really bad idea. Dont do it. When using the original bolt the stress is on only a few threads which can lead you to ruin your crankshaft threads. When using this tool you simply thread the tool into the crankshaft, slide the washers on, then turn the nut to press the harmonic balancer back on to the crankshaft. All of the stress is on all of the threads of the crankshaft instead of just a few. Remove tool and install and torque original bolt.
