Description
An original Pontiac hood ornament used on Chieftain 6 & 8 model cars manufactured in the solo year 1952. It was made by the Ternstedt Division of General Motors. The casting mark is ‘PT4151223’ ‘PAT PEND’ ‘1’. It also has the Ternstedt logo. It is ~17” long. This hood ornament is in very good to excellent condition and displays very well. It is straight - not bent, broken or repaired. The top ‘headdress’ is not chipped or dented and the face looks great. The chrome is deep, luxurious and has a beautiful shine. There are some flecks and a very fine surface bubbling over the ornament and so it is not perfect. Nevertheless, it is still a beautiful example of a ‘52 Pontiac mascot. The front and rear mounting bolts are intact and straight. The threads work well. Overall, this is a beautiful 1952 hood ornament that would make a great addition to your restoration project or Pontiac automobilia collection.
